First Christmas Dinner

We do a lot of blogging about food here but I've thought a lot about what the first Christmas dinner might have been like. Was it something that was preserved and able to travel in Mary or Joseph's bag? Did the innkeeper take any pity and give them some food? Perhaps those shepherds brought food to share when the angels prompted them to visit and worship the beautiful baby Jesus.

Our world has changed. Christmas dinners are certainly more elaborate than that first simple meal. Perhaps we need to simplify and take more time to reflect on how the simplicity of that first Christmas brought such joy into our lives.
